We welcome you to the Lawyer Referral Service section of the Stark County Bar Association’s website. Your membership in the LRS can be a tool to help you grow your business as well as an opportunity to help your community. Potential clients look to the Stark County Bar Association for experienced and dependable lawyers to help them with their specific legal needs and contact the Bar Association office by phone, email or our website.
Following is a brief description on how to become a member and begin receiving referrals. There are no membership fees to join and you keep the $30.00 consultation fee the client pays you. You are asked to return 10% of any services beyond $100.00 for your services, to the Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service office.
HOW YOU CAN BECOME A MEMBER OF THE LRS
COMPLETE THE LRS APPLICATION PACKET
Contact the Bar Association office for an application packet which includes the application and a list of our policies and procedures, either by phone, or emailing our office at SCB@StarkCtyBar.com. Your completion of this application gives us pertinent information about you that includes the panels of law and your experience requirements of same to receive referrals which are listed at the end of this article. Requirements include Bar Association membership, that your main office be located in Stark County, provide information of your liability coverage and a CLE report.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
A client contacts our office and an explanation is given to them that a LRS attorney member will call them within 48 hours to set up a ½ hour consultation for a fee of $30.00 due to the attorney at the time of the consultation. They are informed that any services, etc., that they may wish to have provided for them after the consultation can be discussed at that time. The client gives a brief description of their legal need. We email you a report form with the client’s name, address, telephone number as well as a brief explanation of their request. Your office calls the client to set up the consultation. You are asked to complete and return to our office this report form for each referred client in a timely manner keeping us up-to-date on services provided to the client.
